STATESBORO — Georgia Southern sent out an email Wednesday informing seniors of three graduation options in place of spring commencement.

The University is planning the following alternatives for spring commencement:

  • A virtual ceremony on May 8 and 9 to recognize students online.

  • A rescheduled in-person ceremony can be held, but due to COVID-19, the University does not know when the date would be.

  • The December 11 and 22 commencement ceremonies will be open to any student graduating in the spring.

“Eagle Nation may not all be gathered together on our campuses at the moment, but we are all still connected in our vision — people, purpose, action: growing ourselves to grow others,” the email reads.
