The Georgia Southern men’s soccer team will travel to Boone, North Carolina on Saturday to take on the Appalachian State Mountaineers at 7 p.m.

The Eagles are currently 5-6 overall in their season with their most recent loss against the Howard University Bisons on Saturday night. The Mountaineers are currently 3-3-6, with their most recent loss against the Georgia State University Panthers this past weekend.

Last year, the Eagles beat the Mountaineers 1-0 on Senior Night at Eagle Field in a high intensity game. In the second half, one of App State’s players received his second yellow card of the game, leaving the Mountaineers a man down for the last fifteen minutes of the match.

The Eagles and the Mountaineers have taken on many of the same opponents this year: Presbyterian College, Jacksonville, Hartwick, and Howard. Both teams beat Presbyterian College. The Eagles lost to Jacksonville while the Mountaineers defeated them, however. Hartwick fell to GSU, but ended its game with App State in a double-overtime 0-0 tie. The Eagles lost against Howard this past weekend while the Mountaineers tied 2-2 in double-overtime against the Bisons two weeks ago.

After their match against the Mountaineers, the Eagles will take on the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C. on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m.
