The Georgia Southern Eagles finished their non-conference schedule with a draw and a loss over the weekend.

The Eagles (5-2-1) hosted Coastal Carolina (3-5-1) on Friday night and the game was delayed for a little more than an hour by inclement weather. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead when junior forward Nora El-Shami put home a cross from fellow junior Stephanie Gratto in the ninth minute. El-Shami scored again right before halftime off a pass from sophomore Taylor Burns.

The Eagles held the lead until a red card in the 54th minute gave the Chanticleers a penalty kick which was converted by Kacey Kelley to cut the Eagle lead in half. The Chanticleers scored again in the 63rd minute to tie the game. The game would go into an overtime in which both teams had chances to take the lead but were unable to follow through. The game ended 2-2, giving the Eagles their first draw of the season.

The Eagles traveled to Jacksonville (7-4-1) on Sunday to take on the Dolphins. Both teams were held scoreless in the first half, but Jacksonville scored two goals in the second half to take the win 2-0. The Eagles out-shot Jacksonville 17-16, but were only able to put three on goal.

The Eagles will look to sharpen their game before they open up conference play on the road against UL Monroe on Friday at 5 p.m.
