How to Be Single on Valentine’s Day
February 12, 2020
Valentine’s Day. The most loving time of the year, right?
Nope. For the lonely, it’s the most dreaded day of the year. Cheesy cards, oversized stuffed animals and heart shaped candies galore. As a single person on Feb.14, how do we cope with this day of red madness?
Make fun playlists.
Music is said to be one of the best forms of therapy. It serves as one of our best distractions and confidants. Using your favorite music platform, arrange some of your happiest, endorphin releasing songs into a playlist and have a jam session.
Treat Yo’ Self!
Who needs love from a significant other when you can always start with giving it yourself? Cook your favorite meal. Do a face mask. Buy the shirt you’ve been eyeing. Do things that make YOU happy. Do things that will make you feel better about your day after you do them.
Have a Friends Function!
What better way to spend a single Valentine’s Day then with your other single peers? With Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday this year, it makes it even easier to make a fun event out of the day. Hosting a fun game night, organizing a movie party and even trying a new restaurant are all things that can make for fun memories with your pals.
Get Moving
Attend a workout class at the RAC. Try rock-climbing for the first time, or even take a walk outside. Exercising releases happy chemicals like dopamine and serotonin in our brains. Even if you’re not a gym expert, accomplishing small new goals will have you feeling amazing after.
Valentine’s Day isn’t always a day to fear when you’re single!
