Frederick lifts Eagles to Sunday win

Sophomore RHP Ryan Frederick got his first win in an Eagle uniform today as Georgia Southern University beat the

University of Maryland-Eastern Shore in the fourth game of the series 8-3.

Frederick (1-0) held the Hawks to five hits and struck out four batters in 5.1 innings pitched. Frederick is a transfer

from Savannah College of Art & Design. This was his second start – his first was against the University of Georgia.

The Eagles (7-1) racked up eight runs on eight hits today en route to sweeping the series. They extended their

winning streak to six games – five of which were at home.

Senior outfielder Stryker Brown was 2-4 from the plate with two RBI and s run scored. Junior outfielder Hunter

Thomas was 1-3 with two RBI as well.

GSU will have a tough road test on Tuesday against Mercer University on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
