BRIEF: Associate dean named to the National Advisory Mental Health Council

STATESBORO – The National Advisory Mental Health Council (NAMHC) has appointed Joseph Telfair, associate dean of public health practice and research in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University.
The NAMHC advises the US Department of Health and Human Services and the directors of the National Institute of Health and the National Institute of Mental Health on policies and activities related to mental health research, research training, and other programs of the institutes, according to a press release.
Telfair will operate in areas including public health research and practice, community-based research and issues of health inequities and translation research, according to the press release.
Telfair’s appointment runs through 2023.
