The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards took place on the evening of January 26, 2020. The star-studded night was hosted by Alicia Keys and included performances from fan favorites like Lizzo, Billie Eilish and many more. If you weren’t able to watch the show, don’t worry. Below are the highlights from one of music’s biggest nights.

1. Lizzo kicked off the night

The pop superstar opened the show with an energetic rendition “Cuz I Love You” and “Truth Hurts” (both of which were Grammy nominated). The performance was complete with strong music, incredibly talented dancers and an interlude in which the artist dazzled the audience with her flute-playing skills.

2. Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men honored the late Kobe Bryant

Just hours before the show began, news broke that basketball legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and seven other people died in a helicopter crash in California. Keys said to the audience, “We’re literally standing here, heartbroken, in the house that Kobe Bryant built,” referencing Staples Center, where the awards show was hosted and home of the Los Angeles Lakers. Keys, joined by R&B and hip-hop group Boyz II Men, honored the crash victims by singing R&B classic “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”

3. Usher paid tribute to Prince

The tribute began with Usher’s rendition of “Little Red Corvette” followed by “When Doves Cry” and concluded with “Kiss,” the song that won Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in the 29th Annual Grammy Awards. Usher was joined onstage by Sheila E., Prince’s former protege.

4. Demi Lovato performed the song she recorded just before her overdose

Lovato took the stage with a powerful performance of “Anyone,” the song she recorded just four days before her 2018 overdose. It was the singer’s first live performance in two years. After the show, Lovato posted on Instagram thanking fans for love and support.

5. Billie Eilish made her Grammy stage debut

The 18-year-old took the stage with her brother, singer/songwriter FINNEAS, for a show-stopping performance of “When the Party’s Over.” She then went on to win five of the six awards she was nominated for, sweeping the top four categories.
