The Georgia Southern University women’s basketball team fell to California State University Northridge 70-58 tonight.

Cal State’s junior guard Cinnamon Lister put up 19 points, leading the Matadors along with junior guard Ashlee Guay, who racked up 16 points with nine rebounds, making it hard for the Eagles to keep up.

However, GSU’s junior guard Anna Claire Knight had a career-high night with 28 points, while senior guard Lacie Dowling only put up eight points accompanied with five rebounds.

GSU led going into the half, outscoring Cal State 31-28, but the Eagles could not hold on to the lead for long as the Matadors outscored them 42-27 in the second half bringing the Eagles to a record of 1-3.

GSU opens a four-game road trip, beginning with Jacksonville University Nov. 24 at 1 p.m.
