Women’s soccer ends season falling to Davidson
October 29, 2013
The season is over for the Georgia Southern University women’s soccer team after Southern Conference opponent Davidson College (6-10-4, SoCon 4-5-1) triumphed 2-0.
Davidson came out of the gate swinging with junior forward Zoe Hayes putting a shot past GSU junior goalkeeper Molly Williams in the sixth minute to begin the contest 1-0.
With plenty of time, the GSU offense started using set plays to attempt to fit in a shot past the Davidson defense.
The Wildcats took advantage of the aggressive Eagle attack and slipped in a second goal past Williams in the 76th minute.
Despite seven shots on goal GSU failed to score any goals and save their postseason hopes. Next year the Eagles will compete in the Sun Belt Conference.
