Georgia Southern University‘s Military Affairs Department will celebrate the U.S. Army’s 238th birthday with a program at 12 p.m. on June 14, according to a news release.

The program will be held in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center Ballroom.

Bill Cathcart, WTOC-TV vice president and general manager, will be the featured speaker, according to the news release.

Cathcart is an ambassador to the Army who interacts with commanders and the Secretary of the Army on issues affecting soldiers and their families in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
