Georgia Southern University sophomore golfer Scott Wolfes was named to the PING East All-Region Team on Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Wolfes was also named the Southern Conference Golfer of the Year and was an all-SoCon selection for the second time in as many seasons.

Wolfes finished atop the leaderboard in two tournaments and posted seven top-10 finishes for GSU, placing first or second in five events. Wolfes is also the first GSU golfer to win SoCon Golfer of the Year since Logan Blondell in 2009.

Wolfes has advanced to sectional qualifying in hopes of earning a spot in the 113th U.S. Open Championship.
