GSU dethrones 11th ranked Yellow Jackets

The George Southern University baseball team knocked off the 11th ranked Georgia Institute of Technology in a 5-4 win putting the team on a three game win streak.

The Yellow Jackets defeated the Eagles in two games already this season both coming at home for the Eagles.

Junior pitcher Matt McCall picked up his second win of the season by allowing only one run over four innings pitched and striking out two batters.

Senior first basemen T.D. Davis and junior right fielder Robbie Dodds both recorded two hits while Davis also posted two RBI.

GSU put up two runs in the first and seventh innings as they held a 5-2 lead after seven innings of play.

The Eagles were able to hold on after giving up a run in both the eighth and ninth innings.

On Friday, GSU will begin a three game home series against Davidson College, the first pitch will be thrown at 6 p.m.
