Yellow Jackets sting Eagles

The Georgia Southern University baseball team dropped game one of its series against the Georgia Institute of Technology losing 11-4.
Pitcher Justin Hess was playing well through five innings as the Eagles led 4-1.
In the top of the sixth inning the scope of the game changed as the Yellow Jackets poured it on offensively scoring five runs and three more in the seventh inning.
Catcher Zane Evans was the catalyst for the Yellow Jackets’ offensive explosion as he recorded a two-run homerun and a three-run home run in the sixth and seventh innings respectively.
Sophomore catcher Chase Griffin hit a two run homerun and junior third basemen Ben Morgan recorded two RBI singles the only offense for the Eagles on the day.
The Eagles will look to right the ship against the Yellow Jackets tomorrow at 6 p.m.
