Georgia Southern University Eagles’ junior right-hander Sarah Purvis was named Southern Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week on Monday.

This news comes days after Purvis tossed the first perfect game in program history against Southern Illinois University. She fanned 11 Saluki hitters while recording her fourth win of the season.

On Saturday, Purvis threw eight dominant innings against the University of Alabama but allowed two runs in the ninth, recording her first loss of the season. She made a relief appearance against Florida Gulf Coast University on Sunday, earning her fifth win of the season.

At this point in the season, Purvis has compiled a 5-1 record, a 0.79 ERA and 46 strikeouts.
