Men’s golf recruits promising star
November 19, 2012
Georgia Southern University men’s golf coach Larry Mays announced his latest golf recruit Sam Towler (Hertfordshire, England/Bedford Modern School) signed a National Letter of Intent to be an Eagle beginning in the Fall of 2013.
This is a huge recruiting pick up for Mays and the Eagles. Towler has had a notable junior golf career, with 3rd place finishes in two English U18 Championships and won three trophies outright in 2012. Towler qualified for the Faldo Series final in Rio de Janeiro after winning the U16 Faldo event at age 14.
Towler’s success stretches beyond the green as he signs his intent letter with a 4.0 GPA at Bedford Modern School in England.
The Eagles have also had an impressive 2012 season winning their last two tournaments, which the Eagles haven’t achieved since 1982.
The Eagles next tournament will be on the road in Gainesville, Fl. at the SunTrust Gator Invitational in February.
