STATESBORO — Georgia Southern football’s 2019 home opener against Maine is still set to be played in Paulson Stadium Saturday at 6 p.m.

All three of GS’ campuses are closed through Friday due to Hurricane Dorian, but forecasts in Statesboro are warm and sunny Saturday.

“Our thoughts are with those being, and with those who will be affected by this storm,” Athletic Director Tom Kleinlein said in a tweet Tuesday. “Our plan is still to play (Maine) Saturday night at Paulson Stadium based on the forecast for Statesboro. We hope all of #EagleNation will show up, #GATA and #PackPaulson.”

Two years ago, the Eagles’ home opener against New Hampshire was moved to Birmingham in response to Hurricane Irma.

Gates will open Saturday at 4:30 p.m.
