STATESBORO — Governor Brian Kemp announced Wednesday morning that Bulloch County is under a state of emergency.

Other counties under a state-of-emergency include Appling, Bacon, Clinch, Echols, Evans, Screven, Tattnall and Ware.

The Governor warned that tropical storm winds were a concern, and that anti price-gouging measures were in effect.

“Tropical storm winds are expected in these areas,” Kemp said on Twitter. “Price-gouging is prohibited.”

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office said in a statement that no curfews and no evacuations have been put in place, but that citizens should be aware of hazardous conditions.

“Later today and throughout the night there is a possibility of hazardous conditions such as downed trees, downed power lines and standing water,” The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. “If you do not need to be out on the roadways, please stay home.”

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office urged caution for those who did need to use the roadways.

“If you must get out on the roadways we ask that you drive cautiously and be vigilant in watching for road hazards,” The Bulloch County Sheriff’s office said.
