STATESBORO — The Chandler Hollow Studio, in partnership with the Zenon Collective, will be hosting a two-day multimedia showcase this Saturday and Sunday. 

The event will feature a live segment on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m., focusing on oration, music and film. 

Sunday is the multimedia day, where there will be more hands-on, interactive opportunities for guests to get involved beginning at 2 p.m., according to Megan Farmer, founder of Zenon Collective.

The Zenon Collective is an independent collective dedicated to supporting local indie artists by providing a space of diversity, synergy, creativity, individuality & community, according to Farmer.

The network allows Zenon to maintain an open-studio tailored towards those who may not be able to afford their own space or supplies, according to Farmer.

“We operate entirely on donations and community support, so it is integral to build relationships with local and regional artists and community members,” Farmer said.

Payton Smith, a mixed media artist who debuted her first manuscript at Chandler Hollow, said that the Zenon Collective was trying to open itself to the public.

“Now we’re looking to open the doors, and the mic, to the community,” Smith said.

This weekend’s event will host artists and musicians to provide a safe and creative outlet, with making connections and friends as a primary goal.

“We’ll have so much fun at the opening event this weekend, with dozens of featured artists, musicians, and talented humans coming together to have fun and provide a positive and safe creative outlet for everyone,” Smith said. “Inclusivity and open-mindedness is one of the most important things to our project and we’re calling all artists and wandering souls alike to come make connections and friends.”

Both days will feature the multimedia Gallery, open until 8 p.m., which will feature paintings, photography, digital art and 3D sculpture, according to Farmer.

The event will be taking place at the Chandler Hollow Studio at 1407 Chandler Road next to the Delta Chi fraternity house.

The outdoor activities are free for anyone to participate in and any donation amount permits access into the Studio for the live show, gallery and screening, according to Farmer.
