STATESBORO — President Kyle Marrero will officially be installed as the 14th president of Georgia Southern University Oct. 25 in Hanner Fieldhouse.

“The investiture is the official ceremony, of which the chancellor of the university system and dignitaries, legislators, board of regents, presidents from all over not just the university system, but whoever can travel in all full regalia come in,” Marrero said. 

The ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. the Friday of homecoming. Marrero said that classes won’t be cancelled, but he wants there to be as many students as possible. 

“I (will) give a speech that will change the world as we know it,” he said. “Then we all celebrate and go have a little bit of food over at the Williams Center.”
