BRIEF: Georgia Southern students win IANA Academic Challenge

Kyle Clark

A team of Georgia Southern students won the Intermodal Association of North America’s Intermodal EXPO Challenge this week.

The team, consisting of undergraduates David Vaughn, John Eubanks and Santiago Suarez, responded to a case on volume trends in transportation.

This is the first time GS has won this annual competition, beating all other IANA scholarship schools including the College of Charleston, SUNY Maritime College, and the University of Maryland, North Florida, North Texas and Wisconsin-Superior.

IANA has awarded over 2.8 million in funding in the years since inception to support students in programs focused on intermodal and freight transport.
