Still mourning the loss of your favorite television show? (Seriously, why did the mother have to die?!) Its time to fill the void in your heart, and that spot in your television lineup. There is a whole batch of new television shows premiering this fall that are just waiting for you to fall in love with them. Committing yourself to a new television show can be risky, especially when TPTB are waiting to give the axe to any show with less than stellar ratings right out of the starting gate. Out of the new shows that have premiered so far, here are our suggestions for television shows to tune into based off your interest in other shows currently on the air.
 
If you like “Arrow,” “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,” or “Once Upon a Time,”
Try…”Gotham”. Chances are you have already checked out the highly anticipated drama about a young Jim Gordon’s attempts to clean up Gotham city following the murders of Bruce Wayne’s parents, but if haven’t yet, go ahead and jump in while the show is still fleshing out its main characters. With its light noir style and its fair share of camp, “Gotham” may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but its a fun spin on the typical police procedural drama that television has seen over and over again. Plus its fun looking for easter eggs from the Batman universe, even if the writers tend to make some a bit too obvious.

 
If you like “Scandal,” and “Grey’s Anatomy”
Try…”How to Get Away with Murder.” Okay this one is a no-brainer. Not only is “How to Get Away with Murder” created by Shonda Rhimes, it also airs on the same night as her other two hit shows. However, if there is some small reason you have yet to give this twisty drama a shot, do yourself a favor and tune in and watch Viola Davis tear up the small screen as Annalise Keating, a criminal defense professor whose students may have actually killed someone.

 
If you like “New Girl,” or “Two Broke Girls”

Try…”Selfie.” Okay it may not be a good idea to get too attached to this show because this modern day reimagining of “My Fair Lady” was already receiving some serious internet scorn before it even premiered, despite the fact that the show is a pretty great parody of people growing up in the age of social media. While it does certainly have some kinks to work out, the show’s stars, John Cho and Karen Gillan, have good chemistry and are fun to watch. If you are a fan of quirky females leads and physical comedy, then give this promising little comedy a shot.

 
If you like “True Detective,” or “The Good Wife”

Try…”The Affair.”  Showtime’s newest drama is about an adulterous relationship between a bored school teacher and a waitress in the Hamptons. What sets this show apart from other romantic dramas is that it is being told from both characters perspectives in some undisclosed time in the future as they sit in a police interrogation room. Viewers get to watch the affair unravel in two very different ways thanks to the “he said, she said” nature of the show, and the underlying mystery of why the pair are being questioned about their relationship adds an extra layer of intrigue into the couple’s infidelity.
