STATESBORO — Parts of the United States are currently under a hurricane warning, according to the National Hurricane Center’s Twitter page.

Heavy rainfall over portions of the United States and Puerto Rico and the British Virgin Islands could cause flash flooding over the coming days.

Strong winds could hit parts of Florida as early as Saturday or Sunday night. The risk of dangerous hurricane conditions is increasing as the weekend draws near.

“Now is the time to begin thinking about what kinds of preparations you might need to make over the next couple of days,” The National Hurricane Center released in a tweet.
