STATESBORO — Georgia Southern University released an update regarding Hurricane Dorian on Friday.

Administration will continue to closely monitor the hurricane and weather conditions for all campus locations, according to the statement.

At this time, the University has not made any determinations related to university closures.

“Currently, the storm’s pace seems to have slowed,” the statement reads. “Given the current weather situation, we anticipate our greatest risks are heavy rainfall and coastal flooding, which may occur in the middle of next week.”

Unless there is a drastic shift in weather conditions or the University receives additional information, the next update will be sent out on Monday, Sept. 2.
