The mission of the University Wellness Program is to create a culture of wellness fostering healthy lifestyles for students and faculty within the Georgia Southern community.
Found within the program is Wellness Week, a weeklong event from Feb. 5th to Feb. 13th that helps students learn how to improve their lifestyle and health with engaging activities and contests.
“The people in today’s day and age don’t pay enough attention to their health. I think these kinds of programs are vital in both college and high school,” Roman Jones, sophomore chemistry major, said.
Freshman biology major Annalisa Zandt is not only new to GSU, but the University Wellness Program as well.
“I’ve never really stopped at any tables in the Rotunda before, but I’m glad I did today. I participated in their obstacle course and left with some cool stuff and brochures,” Zandt said.
During Wellness Week, students will have the opportunity to take part in activities such as raffles, fitness block parties, meditation classes and free body image screenings all around campus.
