Hello, everyone!
Welcome to Miscellany, Georgia Southern’s Magazine of the Arts. And welcome back to anyone returning to our publication! I’m Christina, Miscellany’s current editor. I hope everyone is doing well in the new semester and is ready to tackle their new courses. I know I’m not, but I think it’s as good a time as any to make some progress.
For those of you who don’t know, Miscellany is an arts magazine that works to connect students with the creative, whether that be art or writing, and serve as a form of expression for Georgia Southern students. It has been inactive since 2016, but we hope to bring it back in the new year and continue to promote the creative culture at our university. Our hope is that our magazine becomes an inspiration to students, as well as an outlet for anyone to share their work and express themselves.
Since 2016, we have created a new website and have turned over to new staff. Now, in 2019, we believe that this fresh start to our publication brings a lot of promise. Miscellany has a lot of potential, but we hope to reach that potential through the collaborative work of our community. Personally, I see this as a chance for us to grow both as a publication and as artists. Whether you’re a poet, a painter, or even a magazine editor, you improve by sharing your work and gaining input from others.
I look forward to what we can accomplish together in the future. And be sure to check back every now and then to see what other students like you are up to.
Best,
Christina McKinley
