Freshman basketball player Daniel Cooper announced on Tuesday that he would be transferring from Georgia Southern at the end of the semester.

Cooper posted the news on his Twitter page Tuesday afternoon.

“After talking to my family and friends, I’ve made the decision to transfer and find a new place to call home.” Cooper said. “I will be opening my recruitment and looking for a new school to be the best I can be at the sport that I love.”

During his time at GS, Cooper scored two points against Carver College.

The Statesboro High School alum went on to thank GS for the learning experience.

“Thank you Georgia Southern,” Cooper said in the tweet. “This past year has been fun and a great learning experience, but it’s time to move on and start a new chapter of my life.”
