Assistant softball coach no longer part of softball staff

The Georgia Southern softball team parted ways with assistant and batting coach Tim Homan last week.

“Tim Homan is still an employee of Georgia Southern University but his duties do not currently involve working with softball,” SID Chad Jackson said. “As a personnel matter, Georgia Southern Athletics can not comment further on the matter.”

This was Homan’s second season as an assistant coach. In his first season, he helped to improve the team’s batting average by ten points and tied the school record for home runs last season.

The softball team is currently at 19-21 overall and 5-12 in the conference. They’ll be back in action as they take on Texas State at home in the three-game weekend series beginning Thursday.
