Eagle football set to take on Conference USA foe in bowl game

After a very eventful year, the Georgia Southern regular season has come to an end. With a record of 7-5, the Eagles have once again qualified for a bowl game.

On Monday, it was announced that the Eagles would participate in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl vs. Louisiana Tech.

The game will take place on Dec. 23 at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. Kickoff is currently set for 3:00 p.m.

This is the fourth bowl game in Georgia Southern program history. This is the third straight bowl appearance under head coach Chad Lunsford.

In their previous three bowl games, the Eagles have accumulated a record of 2-1. Last season, was the Eagles’ only bowl loss as they fell to Liberty in the AutoNation Cure Bowl.
