Tookie Brown named Georgia College Men’s Player of the Year by Atlanta Tipoff Club

Georgia Southern senior guard Tookie Brown was named the Georgia College Men’s Player of the Year by the Atlanta Tipoff Club, announced Wednesday.

Brown was also named to first-team All-Sun Belt, Sun Belt Player of the Year, and first-team National Association of Basketball Coaches all-district after his impressive performance as his last year as an Eagle.

The guard averaged 17.3 points per game on the 2018-19 season as well as averaging 4.7 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game. Overall, Brown logged over 2,000 career points and 500 assists- ranking the guard at fourth on the Sun Belt career scoring list, ninth in assists and 19th in steals.

Brown is the first player in Sun Belt history to earn first-team All-Sun Belt honors all four years of his collegiate career as well as being named first-team all-district by the NABC all four seasons.

Brown finished his career at GS being the all-time leader in Division I scoring, games played, games started and free throws.
