Preview: Eagle Baseball to take on the Yellow Jackets
March 12, 2019
The Georgia Southern Eagles are heading into a six game streak on the road and their first stop is to play the Georgia Institute of Technology Yellow Jackets in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday.
The Eagles are coming off of a win against the University of North Carolina in Asheville and they took home the series, winning two out of three games.
Although the Eagles won that series, there is a new fight ahead. The last nine times that the Eagles have met the Yellow Jackets GS has fallen short, but they are looking for redemption.
The last time that GS beat out GT was when the Jackets traveled to Statesboro and the Eagles ended up beating out the competition 4-3.
One player that fans are sure to look out for is freshman infielder, Noah Ledford. In the last game against UNC-Asheville, Ledford hit two home runs to rack up points for the Eagles.
Another player that the audience will have an eye on Tuesday is junior pitcher Tyler Owens. He has performed well this season and is a leader on the GS offensive side of the ball.
The right hand man from Sylvania, Georgia has constantly rang three up, three down for the Eagles and strikeouts are his forte.
He’s riding on a winning records in his pitching game and there is more to come as he takes on GT with the rest of the GS offense this Tuesday.
The Eagles are set to travel to Atlanta for the battle against GT and the first pitch is set for 6 p.m. from Russ Chandler Stadium. Fans can listen live on the Georgia Southern Sports Network and can watch on ACC Network Extra.
