The Georgia Southern Eagles are set to travel to Macon, Georgia on Tuesday to battle the Mercer Bears in a showdown set for 6 p.m.

The game against the Bears will open a series of games that consists of four competitions for the Eagles that will be outside of Statesboro.

Georgia Southern is coming off of a win against the Little Rock Trojans and with a 5 run lead to take the victory, the Eagles are looking to do the same again, if not more, on Tuesday.

The last time the Eagles met the Bears they took a 13-3 win to claim to victory and redshirt-senior Tyler Martin led the Eagles to that victory going 3-for-5 with three RBIs.

Junior RHP Seth Shuman will be another player to watch considering he struck out 13 batters on Friday against Little Rock.

Shuman was also named as a Player of the Week, as of Monday March 25, by Collegiate Baseball News.

The Eagles have been shelling out star player after star player and another to add to that list is junior OF/INF Mason McWhorter.

In the last series the Eagles played, McWhorter scored a two-run home and in the last game he scored three runs and racked up three RBIs for GS.

The pitcher to watch on Tuesday will be GS’ RHP, junior Tyler Owens. He currently has a season high of seven strikeouts on the season from GS’ competition at The Citadel.

The Eagle from Sylvania, Georgia only looks to rack up more in the match against the Bears, with a strong INF/OF to back him up.

The first pitch is set for 6 p.m. at OrthoGeorgia Park in Macon and the game will be live on ESPN+ and fans can listen live on the Georgia Southern Sports Network Radio.
