Georgia Southern Women’s basketball returns to action on Thursday where they square off against the Ragin’ Cajuns of Louisiana.

After losing to rival Georgia State inside the friendly confines, the Eagles continue their homestand facing the University of Louisiana Lafayette. GS comes into the game at 6-14 overall, with a 1-8 conference record, while the school formerly known as ULL is 6-15, with a 4-6 conference record.

The Ragin’ Cajuns have two players who average double digit points. Sophomore center Ty’reona Doucet averages 13.7 points per game, and freshman guard Brandi Williams averages 11.9 per game. Louisiana doesn’t play well on the road, however, slugging in a 1-8 road record traveling to Statesboro.

For the Eagles two players have stood out offensively. Junior guard Alexis Brown leads the team with 17.7 points per game, scoring 30 points or more multiple times in the season. Sophomore guard Tatum Barber is the other double-digit scorer for GS, averaging 10.3 points per game.

The Eagles will have to rely on LA’s bad play on the road to pull out a much-needed win in conference.

Tip-off for Thursday’s contest at Hanner Fieldhouse is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
