The Georgia Southern Women’s basketball team returns home for their final two home games of the season, hosting Coastal Carolina on Thursday.

After beating the University of Louisiana back on Feb. 7, the Eagles have since gone on a three-game losing streak coming into Thursday’s matchup against the Chanticleers.

Sitting at 2-11 in conference and 7-17 overall, GS continues to rely on the duo of junior guard Alexis Brown and sophomore guard Tatum Barber. Brown has continued her dominant force on offense, averaging 17.4 points per game, while Barber is just behind with 11.3 points per game. As a team the Eagles have averaged 66.7 during their most recent three-game skid, while allowing 84.3 points on average.

For the Chanticleers, who come into the game with a 13-10 overall record and a 5-7 conference record, and rely on a pair of junior guards who both average 15+ points per game. DJ Williams and Caitlin Roche do the majority of damage on offense for CCU, averaging 17.4 and 15, respectively.

Thursday’s battle of the birds is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. within the friendly confines of Hanner Fieldhouse.
