Former Savannah State defensive back Donald Rutledge is set to join the Georgia Southern football team after graduating in December.

Rutledge is enrolled at GS and will be eligible to play for the Eagles in 2019.

The South Carolinian recorded 53 total tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery for the Tigers in 2018 and joins a GS defense that led the country in turnover margin with a +22.

Rutledge isn’t the only transfer that is eligible to play in 2019 as Syracuse defensive end transfer Justin Ellis is on the 2019 GS roster.
