The Georgia Southern men’s basketball team will face the 9-9 South Alabama Jaguars on Saturday during a two game Alabama road trip.

The Jaguars, led by senior guard Roderick Sikes and junior forward Josh Ajayi, has averaged almost 73 points per game and has lost every away game this season. They have racked up an impressive 9-3 home record.

The Jaguars defeated Coastal Carolina on Jan 5 in a thrilling double overtime for the first time in program history and started off 2-0 in the conference with another win over Appalachian State, before falling to Arkansas State and Little Rock in back to back games.

Coming off of a close loss to Louisiana Lafayette at home and a win on the road over Troy, GS is looking to improve their defense and increase their three point shot accuracy. The team has trailed by double digit points for seven games in a row, but has managed to rally a second half comeback multiple times.

Last season, the Eagles went 1-1 against this South Alabama team, with Quan Jackson and Montae Glenn taking the lead.

Last week, Quan Jackson hit the game winning shot against ULM. Last season, Jackson missed the same shot against this team in an upsetting 67-69 loss.

The Eagles are looking to improve to 12-7 and 4-2 in the Sun Belt. The game is set to start at 4:05 p.m. in Mobile, Alabama and will be streamed on ESPN+.
