The Eagles will take on another rival this weekend as Appalachian State comes to Statesboro as they face-off in their third conference match of the season.

Appalachian State (7-4-3)

This will also be ASU’s third conference match of the season as they are 1-0-1 in conference play- holding a 2-1 win over Coastal Carolina and a 0-0 tie to Georgia State.

Overall the Mountaineers have notched 178 shots on the season, helping them average 12.7 shots per game.

Camden Holbrook is a Mountaineer to be on the lookout for as he’s tallied five goals on the season and 22 shots for ASU.

The Mountaineer’s goalkeeper has also been quite the impresser this season, only allowing 11 goals and having a save percentage of .792 percent.

Georgia Southern (5-5-3)

The Eagles are looking to break their two-game tie streak as they collected a 1-1 tie last weekend to Georgia State after taking them to double over time.

GS has collected 176 shots on the season, only two less than ASU, giving them an average of 13.5 shots per game.

Obviously senior forward Javier Carbonell continues to stand a threat anywhere on the field after tallying 13 goals this season and 53 shots.

The Eagles also sit 1-0-1 in the conference so this game is vital concerning the Sun Belt tournament and seeding.

The match will be Saturday with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at Eagle Field.
