The 2018-2019 Georgia Southern women’s basketball schedule has been released and it shows 14 home games as well as nine games against teams that made it to the postseason last year.

For the third time in the past four seasons the Eagles will open at home on Nov. 6, hosting Wofford at 6:30 p.m. From there fans will see the Eagles in action seven total games in November, three of those games being competitors they saw last season.

“I think it’s a very good schedule,” GS Head Coach Kip Drown said to gseagles. “There are some real challenging teams in the non-conference part of the slate, but I think it’s very competitive for us.”

In the month of November alone, GS will start with the home opener versus Wofford, will then travel to Virginia to take on Virginia Tech (Nov. 10), find their way back to Hanner to face off against Mercer (Nov. 12), take a trip to Savannah to play Savannah State (Nov. 15), hit the road again to New York to take on Stony Brook (Nov. 20), be back at home to face Bethune-Cookman (Nov. 25) and finally to conclude the month the Eagles will travel to Kennesaw to play Kennesaw State (Nov. 28).

A big game for the Eagles will be a match up against the University of Georgia in Athens Dec. 21.

“Right before Christmas we’ll go over to Athens and play Georgia, who is going to be extremely good,” Drown said. “It will be a great test for our kids.”

The Eagles will start conference play Jan. 3 at home against Texas State and will close out their regular season play in Atlanta, facing off against rival Georgia State March 9.
