For the second time this season, the Georgia Southern men’s basketball team has fallen below the .500 mark.

The Eagles suffered their worst loss of the season on Saturday, falling to Coastal Carolina on the road, 78-59.

CCU’s Vince Cole was the biggest thorn in the side of the Eagles, recording a season-high 28 points, including 23 in the first half.

“We had to make some adjustments in the first half to try to limit his touches,” said head coach Bryan Burg. “We struggled to make those adjustments.”

For the Eagles, Princeton Toyambi put together a double-double performance, recording 10 points and 10 rebounds. Elijah McCadden scored his 1,000th career point as a part of his team-leading 14 point performance.

Following the loss, GS sits at 11-12 (4-8 SBC), which put them at No. 13 within the Sun Belt standings.

The Eagles will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to take on Georgia State. Tip-off is schedule for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN+.
