Georgia Southern University faculty and staff are participating in a comprehensive salary survey this semester.

Interim President Shelley Nickel said in her Fall 2018 Convocation speech that the purpose of the survey is to ultimately hire employees who are a good fit for the university.

“We have begun a salary survey that will help us keep and recruit the best faculty and staff from around the country,” Nickel said.

Nickel said the staff study will be conducted by Simpson Consulting and that the faculty study will be conducted by Michael Tomma from the Department of Economics.

“I expect both groups to complete their work in December and we’re developing a communication plan to let you know what’s happening,” Nickel said.

More information will become available as the semester progresses.

Yearly salaries of GS faculty and staff dating back to 2010 can be viewed at opengeorgia.gov.
