The Georgia Southern volleyball team will be traveling to Morgantown, West Virginia to play in the West Virginia Invitational where they will play West Virginia, Wright State, and UCONN.

They’ll first face West Virginia who will also be kicking off their official season playing against the Eagles. WV finished the 2017 season with a 21-13 season over all, and a 6-10 season within their conference. They racked up 1620 kills, only 684 errors, n has a .225 percent for the season.

The Eagles will then take on Wright State who had an over 11-18 season and a 5-11 conference record. The Raiders also accumulated 1415 kills and 646 errors though the season, as well as a .181 percent.

Lastly, the Eagles will meet UCONN on the court who had 264 kills and 116 errors throughout the 2017 season along with a .197 percent. The Huskies had an overall record of 11-21 last season and a 4-16 conference record.

GS looks strong going into this upcoming season but could do better than their 8-21 overall record last season. The Eagles collected 1188 kills and 547 errors in the 2017 season and set a .186 percentage.

The Eagles have star player Lauren Reichard returning to the court as she led the team with kills and total blocks last season and we can expect to see some good things from her this season as she leads GS on the court.

The Eagles will play both West Virginia and Wright State Friday, August 24 and then close out the weekend playing UCONN Saturday, August 25.
