The Eagles travel to Mobile in hopes of beating South Alabama and the weather

Georgia Southern travels to South Alabama for another conference matchup as weather threatens to disrupt series for the second consecutive weekend.

The three game series, which was originally scheduled for Friday through Sunday has been adapted to a double header on Friday and a game Sunday due to heavy rains in the Mobile area.

As for the play on the field itself, junior RHP Brian Eichhorn will take the mound in game one of Friday’s double header, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., and the pitcher for game two is still TBA, starting shortly after the first one.

Sophomore RHP Seth Shuman will pitch on Sunday after his complete game against Arkansas-Little Rock the week prior.

After a 3-12 thumping at the hands of Kennesaw State, a game that saw ten Eagles take the mound, GS looks to be more efficient behind their two best pitchers, but in order to take important conference wins and stay at second place in the Sun Belt, the offense needs to find its’ way.

Senior infielder Chandler Corley provided a late solo home run over the left field wall in the loss to the Owls, the same day he debuted his “Yodeling Walmart kid remix” walk up song.

The offense is going to need to provide some sparks, with sophomores Mason McWhorter and Steven Curry being held at bay recently, in order to pick up some wins.

GS remains at second in the Sun Belt behind Coastal Carolina, and with South Alabama looming behind the Eagles in the rankings, these games are going to be essential for GS to keep pace.
