Last week, Homecoming was celebrated with the annual Homecoming parade, bringing together multiple organizations around the Georgia Southern campus.

The parade started by the Military Science building and ended at the end of Sweetheart Circle.

There were many floats representing Greek life sorority and fraternity members that were on the homecoming court.

“The event was really fun. I really enjoyed the parade and seeing all of the Georgia Southern organizations come together and I can’t wait to see Emmy G on the field tomorrow,” said Sophomore Gabbi Tucker, member of Kappa Delta.

The streets were lined with people from all around the community waiting to see all of the creative floats.

The parade also featured the cheer team, marching band, as well as started a new tradition – yellow buses loaded with all of the members of the football team.

After the parade, many award winners were announced for competitions that spanned all throughout the week including the sidewalk competition, tailgate competition, and Dooh Dah winners.

Afterwards, the homecoming duke and Duchess were crowned and the remaining court for homecoming king and queen were announced.

There is no doubt that all of the homecoming festivities gave excitement for the homecoming football game the next day.

“We are so proud of each and every one of our candidates. Listen, again my name is Brandon Moore, your 2022 Mr. Georgia Southern and I’m looking to see you at the 2022 Homecoming Game,” said Brandon Moore.
