The Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Gay Straight Alliance will host Georgia Southern University’s annual Drag Show on Thursday in the Russell Union Ballroom.

Starting at 7 p.m., professional drag performers will put on a show full of music, fashion, and phenomenal dancing.

“Hosting the Drag Show is a conduit of cultural exploration and inclusion on our campus,” Takeshia Brown,Office of Multicultural Affairs director said via email.”It is opportunity for our community to learn and engage with difference in a fun way.”

Ashley Strickland, Gay Straight Alliance vice president, describes the event as a night to remember full of incredible entertainment.

“One thing I love about drag is how the performers take the concept of gender expression and use that as a way to create their own exaggerated performance of gender expression,” Strickland said.

Following the drag show a Q and A session will be held between the performers and the audience.

The event will be free and open to the public. Strickland encourages the student body to attend the event.

“The queens from past years have been hilarious, beautiful and incredible dancers and performers,” Strickland said. “I highly encourage everyone to come out to this event and to bring tips for the queens.”
