Sports Wrap-up: The Eagles Wrap Up 4 Game Skid in Return to Hannerfield

Georgia Southern beat both James Madison and Arkansas State to improve to (14-13,7-7)

Game Summary: In the first game back off the road trip the Eagles would maintain as much as a 14-point lead in the first half. They would eventually have a 7 point lead going into the second half, a trend the last couple of games. 

  • The Eagles would be outscored in the second half, but not be defeated as Jalen Finch would hit clutch free throws down the stretch. The Eagles would beat JMU 76-73

Stats

  • Andrei Savrasov led all players with 22 points and 10 rebounds
  • Jalen Finch had 18 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 steals
  • Carlos Curry had 9 points and added 7 rebounds

Game Summary: In the second home game at Hannerfield house the Eagles maintained a lead in both halves. They were up by as much as 12 points with 4:21 left in the first half. Arkansas State would cut the deficit to 6 as the first half ended. 

  • The Eagles dominated right at the start of the second half going on an 11 point run, extending their lead to almost 20 points. Arkansas State would prove to be no match as the Eagles cruised to a 68-53 victory.

Stats

  • Andrei Savarasov led all players with 24 points and 12 rebounds for his third straight double double. He went a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line
  • Tyren Moore scored 12 points, shooting 3-7 from the 3-pt line
