GS MBB Goes Undefeated, While Lady Eagles Split in an Important Week of Hoops

Last week was a busy week of hoops for both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Both teams played in two conference games that have will affect the postseason. 

Men’s Team Goes 2-0 on the Week 

  • Defeated the James Madison Dukes 76-73 on Thursday night at Hanner Fieldhouse. This win ended a 4-game losing streak. 
  • Defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves 68-53 on Saturday on the road. 
  • Their record is now 14-13 with a 7-7 record in conference play. 
  • The Eagles are now tied for 7th in the Sun Belt Conference standings. 

Lady Eagles Stay Steady

  • Loss to the Old Dominion Monarchs 67-50 on the road on Thursday. 
  • Defeated the Appalachian State Mountaineers 84-73 at Hanner Fieldhouse. 
  • Head Coach Anita Howard recorded her 200th career win as a Head Coach on Saturday. 
  • The Lady Eagles record is now 16-7 with a 8-6 record in conference play. 
  • The Lady Eagles are currently 7th in the Sun Belt Conference standings. 

What’s Next 

  • The men will travel this week to take on Marshall and Southern Mississippi.
  • The women will host Marshall and Coastal Carolina this week.
