Eagles defend home court in regular season finales

 The Eagles win final home games against Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State improving to (16-15, 9-9) in the regular season. 

Game Summary: The game started close as neither team could pull away, the biggest lead being 3 points until about halfway through the first half. The biggest lead the Eagles had was 8 points before eventually closing the first half with a 5-point lead. The Eagles remained in control in the second half holding their lead the entire time. They pulled away by as many as 13 points. GS beat Coastal 76-68. 

Stats:

  • Kamari Brown led the eagles in scoring with 14, shooting 4/6 from 3pt line. 
  • Andrei Sarasov finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for a double double.
  • Tyren Moore and Kaden Archie finished with 13 and 11 points respectively.

Game Summary: In the final game of the regular season against Appalachian State, the Eagles kept it very close in the first half. It was a back-and-forth affair as the lead changed 7 times in the first half. They would end the first half tied up at 29. In the second half it was the same as the game was relatively close until 3 minutes to go. Fouls by the opposing team lead to free throw opportunities the Eagles would not waste. GS claimed victory 73-64.

  • Andrei Savrasov scored a career high 28 points on 9/13 shooting.
  • Jalen finch scored 13 points shooting 3/4 from the 3pt line.
  • Kamari Brown scored 12 points.
  • Carlos Curry had 10 points.

What’s next: The Eagles play their next game in Pensacola, Florida, for the SunBelt conference championships. Their opponent is University of Louisiana Monroe, which they lost to earlier in the season 59-72. The Eagles will try to avenge that loss on Thursday, March 2nd. Tip off is at 7:30pm on ESPN+.
