Storm preparation guide

Tropical storm Idalia will approach from the Southeast on Tuesday, according to an email sent by Communications and Marketing.

What’s important: Keep an eye out for updates on all alarming weather through your Georgia Southern email and Eagle Alerts.

  • During the storm, it is best that you stay inside and avoid being around any windows.
  • Have a kit of necessities on standby. In an interview last semester with the Director of Emergency Services Erick Riner, he said “Everyone should have a plan for these situations, starting with an emergency kit. It should contain items such as cash, water, first aid, batteries, hand sanitizer, phone/charger, flashlight, and all that good stuff.

What else: Riner also urges students to check out the Emergency Management page on the Georgia Southern Website for more information on not only storms, but other emergency situations as well.
