Entering the final day of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Invitational from Aiken, South Carolina, the Georgia Southern Men’s Golf Team found themselves in seventh place on the tournament leaderboard, but their stellar performance in the final round on Tuesday propelled the Eagles to a second place finish.

Seniors Archer Price and Jake Story each shot a team best 69 in the final day of play, which landed both of them with top 5 individual finishes, and helped lead the Eagles to the tournament’s lowest round of the day of a 286.

The team’s comeback didn’t go unnoticed by head coach Carter Collins.

“All five guys showed a lot of grit and determination today,” Collins said. “They defined what it means to GATA!”

The Eagles have 10 days until their next rounds in a tournament, when they will take part in the Schenkel Invitational at the Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro on March 16-18.

With just three remaining tournaments left on their schedule until the Sun Belt Championship, the Eagles will look to carry over their late-push efforts from this tournament to their remaining rounds in the 2018 season.
