Minority students gathered at Russel Union to learn about the various minority clubs and engage with their peers at an event called Let’s Link.
The Minority Advisement Program, known as M.A.P., and the Men of Vision, known as M.O.V.E, host this event every semester to encourage unity among minority students on campus.
Hannah Smith, the Vice President of M.A.P., gave insight on how they hope to reach minority students.
“The purpose of Let’s Link is to bring minorities out, it’s supposed to show a lot of students especially freshman’s and sophomores the different organizations on campus and how to acclimate and just show them things they probably didn’t know or see before,” Smith said.
Many organizations were in attendance ranging from sororities and fraternities, to community service, fashion, dance, and many more.
Each organization had an interactive booth engaging with students, along with performances showcasing the diversity present at GSU, and even line dancing.
Although it’s not just about joining clubs, this event provided an environment for minority students to meet and connect with one another and also, to find their community on campus.
