The women opened up conference play this past week against Marshall while also playing the College of Charleston

1st Game Georgia Southern vs College of Charleston 

• It was a close game that resulted in a 3-2 Georgia Southern win 
• Pitcher Anslie Pettit faced 26 batters striking out 5 in 7 innings, and allowed only 2 hits

2nd Game Georgia Southern vs Marshall

• Faith Barth drove in 3 runs on a homer in the 1st inning, her first home run of the season

• The Eagles won this game 4-3 despite a late homer in the 6th inning by Marshall

3rd Game Georgia Southern vs Marshall

• The Eagles had trouble hitting totaling 6 base hits in 27 at bats
• Delanie Thames hit a late homer in the 7th inning giving the Eagles their only run of the game
• The Eagles lost 6-1

4th Game Georgia Southern vs Marshall

• The hitting woes stayed in this game as the Eagles had 1 base hit in 20 at bats
• The lone hit of the game was a home run by Janai Conklin in the 5th
• The Eagles lost 9-1 in 6 innings

What’s next:  The Eagles are 17-10 on the season, and they will face rivals Georgia State in a 3 game series Friday-Sunday. The Friday game will start at 6 pm and be played at Eagle Field.
